Lloyd is a master of working with celebrities to reinvent beloved pieces of theatre: Jessica Chastain starred in his incendiary production of A Doll’s House and he brought Nicole Scherzinger to Broadway in Sunset Boulevard. Now, Keanu Reeves (The Matrix) and Alex Winter (Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure) will star opposite one another as Estragon and Vladimir, respectively, in this fresh take on Beckett’s classic.

In a joint statement, Reeves and Winter said, “We’re incredibly excited to be on stage together and work with the great Jamie Lloyd in one of our favorite plays.”

In Waiting for Godot, Estragon and Vladimir await a man named Godot. Whether he arrives or not is perhaps not the point of the play, which has charmed audiences since its 1953 premiere. Bill Irwin, Ian McKellen, and Patrick Stewart have all performed in versions of the play, which remains wildly open to interpretation.
