Get The Last Bimbo of the Apocalypse tickets and see the newest creation from the queer, inventive minds of Pulitzer Prize finalists Michael Breslin and Patrick Foley. Known for their digital theater hits Circle Jerk and This American Wife, Breslin and Foley now bring a new piece to The New Group. The Last Bimbo of the Apocalypse musical starts with an iconic photograph of Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan, and Britney Spears…but who is the fourth person in the picture? Find out and see their new musical running for a limited time off Broadway this spring.
Experience The Last Bimbo of the Apocalypse off Broadway and head back to 2006: The New York Post infamously labeled Paris, Lindsay, and Britney “The Three Bimbos of the Apocalypse.” But who is the fourth person in the image? In the present, three Gen Z internet addicts/sleuths investigate that figure: it’s Coco, an early 2000’s one-hit wonder who mysteriously vanished. The Gen Zers’ musical quest leads them to uncover the truth, deliver justice for a queen, and rewrite pop culture history as we know it. What could go wrong on their epic journey?
Rory Pelsue directs and develops this new piece, which features choreography from Jack Ferver, whose works are “so extreme that they sometimes look and feel like exorcisms” (The New Yorker). Peluse previously directed Circle Jerk, Breslin and Foley’s piece known for its wild twists and turns, campy humor, and larger-than-life characters who interact with each other as much as they do with digital media.
Chronicling chronically online characters, Breslin and Foley’s pieces are highly contemporary, funny, and experimental. See their newest work coming to The New Group.
