Louisa Jacobson to star in 'Trophy Boys' off Broadway; full cast announced
Emmanuelle Mattana wrote and co-stars in this play, directed by Tony Award winner Danya Taymor, that centers on the members of a boys' prep school debate team.
MCC Theater has set the complete cast for its summer production of Trophy Boys off Broadway, running from June 5 to July 13. Opening night is June 25.
The complete cast includes Louisa Jacobson (The Gilded Age) as Jared, Terry Hu (Never Have I Ever) as David, Esco Jouléy (Wolf Play) as Scott, and Trophy Boys playwright Emmanuelle Mattana as Owen.
Directed by 2024 Tony Award winner Danya Taymor (The Outsiders), Trophy Boys is a sharp satire about the debate team of an elite all-boys prep school preparing for their final match. They must debate whether feminism has failed women, but just before they're set to go on, a "rumor" about their team leaks and threatens to blow up the competition.
Trophy Boys features scenic design by Matt Saunders, costume design by Márion Talán de la Rosa, lighting design by Cha See, sound design by Fan Zhang, movement by Tilly Evans-Krueger, prop supervision by Samantha Shoffner, voice and dialect coaching by Gigi Buffington, and DEI consultation by Nicole Johnson.
