Austin Yang

Austin Yang was born in Taipei, Taiwan in early 1998. He always assumed to live a normal life, but when his family moved to Shanghai in 2004, he officially became a third-culture kid and enrolled in an international school.

Austin Yang's self-cultivated love for theater took him all the way from Asia to New York City, the only place with enough to sate his voracious appetite. He enlisted as an undergraduate student at Fordham University, majoring in International Political Economy, and minoring in Computer Science and Theatre. Rest assured, studies aside, his time and energy has always been entirely devoted to consuming and creating theatre.

As a theatre minor, he has worked extensively in all aspects of theatre, from directing and producing to design and construction. As an actor, he appeared in the Fordham Theatre Program's production of Anne Washburn's Mr. Burns, A Post-Electric Play, becoming the only theatre minor in years to secure a role on Fordham's mainstage.

Aside from his duties as a reviewer and theatre journalist, he regularly contributes as a photographer at various press events from the "Meet The Tony Nominees" junket to the Drama Desk Awards' counterpart.

He hopes to, through his work, give back to theatre a little of the life it has given him.
