Jeremy Strong stars in the play An Enemy of the People on Broadway.
Jeremy Strong is an Emmy and Golden Globe Award-winning actor best known for his role as Kendall Roy on the hit HBO series Succession.
Born December 25, 1978 in Boston, Massachusetts, Strong became involved in local theatre as a child, performing in plays and musicals. He later attended Yale University where he earned a B.A. in English and performed in the campus undergraduate theatre group.
After performing in numerous summer companies, Strong landed Off-Broadway roles in plays including Defiance, Frank’s Home, and New Jerusalem. In 2008, he made his Broadway debut in A Man for All Seasons. Over the years, he would return to Off-Broadway for several plays, such as Our House, A Month in the Country, and The Great God Plan.
During this time, Strong also began his film career, playing the lead in the 2008 film Humboldt County and supporting roles in movies such as Lincoln, Zero Dark Thirty, and Selma. Ultimately, his part in the 2015 film The Big Short springboarded his career, as director Adam McKay also cast him in his upcoming show, Succession. Although originally considered for the part of Roman Roy, he was cast as Kendall Roy and captivated audiences with his intense performance while the show was on the air from 2018 to 2023. Critics gave Strong rave reviews, and he went on to earn Emmy, Golden Globe, and SAG awards.
In 2024, Strong returns to Broadway to star in a new adaptation of Henrik Ibsen’s An Enemy of the People, playing Dr. Thomas Stockmann.
